Lemon mint water



Ingredients:
  • 6 large lemons or 1/2 cup lemon juice 
  • 4 cups water 
  • 1 cup mint leaves (you can use less)
  • 10 tablespoons of sugar 
  • 1 cup ice

Preparation:
  1. Wash the mint leaves with filtered water and lemon juice. 
  2. Blend everything on high speed for 5 minutes.

Cantaloupe Water


Ingredients:

  • 1 cantaloupe melon
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons sugar or to taste
  • 2 cups ice cubes




Preparation:
  1. Peel, remove seeds and rinds. Cut the melon into cubes.
  2. Put the diced melon in the blender, add water, sugar, lemon juice and ice. Blend at high speed.
  3. Taste to sugar.  Cool for an hour and serve.

Bolognese Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup oil (I use canola)
  • 2 red onions finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 tablespoons celery
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons spicy tomato sauce
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ lemon peel
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of pepper

Preparation:
 
In a pan, add oil and bring to heat and when hot, add onion, carrot, celery, lightly saute these ingredients and add the ground beef. Continue stirring until lightly browned all. Add tomato sauce, white wine, beef broth, bay leaf and lemon peel. Finally, add salt, pepper and crushed garlic.

Cover the pot and simmer over low heat for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Serve with white rice, fill a lasagna or serve with any kind of cooked pasta: spaghetti, macaroni, corkscrews, etc.

Pineapple and coconut drink


 



Ingredients:




  • 3 cups of frozen chopped pineapple
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 6 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 cup of ice cubes



Preparation:

Peel the pineapple, remove the core and cut into small cubes.  Refrigerate until frozen.





Mix all the ingredients and blend.   Add sugar to taste.  Strain.  Decorate with a slice of pineapple.  Two services.

Easy Chocolate Cake




Ingredients:


  • 2 cups all purpose-flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2/3 cup salted butter
  • 1 2/3 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degress F. 
  2. Prepare the cake pan with flour and chocolate, after oiling.  I used 8 inch round.
  3. Sift the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder into the bowl and mix until combined.
  4. Beat butter, sugar and add the eggs one by one.
  5. In another bowl, combine cocoa, milk and vanilla with the sifted dry ingredients, beginning and ending with flour.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutos until a cake tester come out clean.  After this time, remove the cake from the oven.  Cool in the pan for 30 minutes, then turn it out.
  7. You can decorate the cake, sprinkling over a little powdered sugar or placing on top a heart cookie cutter with powdered sugar.

Sweet curdled milk




Ingredients:


  • 8 cups of milk
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice 
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation:


  1. In a large pot, combine milk, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, salt, lemon zest and  beaten eggs.  
  2. Then, bring to a boil to medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.   
  3. Fifteen minutes later, add the lemon juice , bring to a low heat for 1 hour and 45 minutes.  "DON'T MOVE".
  4. Below, you can see, the mixture is so clear and looks like a crater, milk is curdling.




Already here, the mixture takes a dark color because it has more than 1 hour on heat.



Let cool slightly, refrigerate and serve.

Brownies





Ingredients:

  • 3 sticks of butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 9 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract 
  • 1 ½ cup chopped walnut 
  • Salt to taste
  • confectioner's sugar 

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter.  Remove from heat, and stir in unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar and flour.  Move well. Then, add the eggs, one by one, salt, vanilla and nuts.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.  Do not overcook.
  4. A time after, remove the pan from the oven and cut the dough into squares, sprinkling with confectioners' sugar on top.
